Discover The Supermarket

The Supermarket is a multi-use arts and creative event space where art, culture, and community come together. Located in the Poncey-Highland neighborhood, the space is a local attraction and amenity specializing in community art programs and private rentals.

We provide artists space to be creative while giving the general public a place to engage with and support the arts! Private rentals allow the business to subsidize art programs for The Supermarket’s nonprofit partner, The Bakery Atlanta, and individual artists. We host, and produce, everything from private weddings and corporate mixers to concerts and art exhibitions. This 12,500 SF artist-designed space has several rooms that can be activated separately or together. Founded in 2024 inside of a former grocery store built in the 1800's, The Supermarket is just getting started.

Our Story - once an old grocery store

While The Supermarket is new, our team has been doing this work in Atlanta for nearly a decade. In 2017, Willow H. Goldstein (The Supermarket’s Creative Director) co-founded an art space with her mom called “The Bakery.” This 23,000 SF warehouse (and once factory bakery) served hundreds of artists and made a major impact on Atlanta’s DIY scene. After the first location closed, from 2020-2023, The Bakery evolved through a post-pandemic landscape and ultimately became “The Bakery Atlanta Incorporated,” a 501(c)3 art services nonprofit. The Bakery is now the anchor tenant and programming partner at The Supermarket. Get more information about our partners at The Bakery and it’s history here.

The Supermarket was the perfect place for my wife and I’s big day. We didn’t use a coordinator, and instead relied on the staff for our wedding, and we wouldn’t change a thing. It’s an incredible venue with incredible people, and we’re grateful to The Supermarket for making our wedding so special!

This place is over an hour from me and it is so worth the drive.

I have been for 2 classes. One for me and one with my kids. My first visit I was nervous because I can't art. The class was informative and overall very encouraging. The visit with my sons was definitely the best so far. They loved making their sculptures and their teachers were excellent and so doting. They even helped me snag a kit from another class going on.

For us, going to The Supermarket and The Bakery is very much a magical city adventure. Finding the right door, following the signs down the hall to the stairs to another hall and then it opens up.

The people, art installations, nooks and crannies, and various sundries really make it the best otherworldly supermarket I've seen.

An immersive, cosmic-themed installation filled with shimmering metallic walls, glowing string lights, floating translucent spheres, and draped fabrics in blue and purple tones, creating a dreamy, otherworldly atmosphere at The Supermarket.
We hosted our wedding reception and dance party at The Supermarket, and it was absolute magic. The space is wildly creative—like stepping into a mini-Meow Wolf—with built-in art, immersive vibes, and room to explore. The staff was kind, organized, and made everything run smoothly. If you want a unique, unforgettable venue, this is it!

The Supermarket was wonderful! We hosted an exhibition of student work and they were flexible, communicative, helpful, and just all around lovely to work with. It meant so much to our students to have work out there in the world, and the event we hosted on opening night went smoothly thanks to the dedicated team! The vibe of the place is just straight up cool, and so many people complimented the space. Can't recommend them highly enough!

My organization hosted an event at The Supermarket in October 2025 and they were beyond fantastic to work with. From the initial planning process and them having every detail available for us to plan our space needs and wants to their utmost professionalism during the event itself, this place is a dream to work with as an event planner. Not to mention how stunning and cool the venue is on its own! A true gem in Atlanta! Next time we have an event there we will definitely be pursuing The Supermarket again.
