Homecoming
Homecoming is a darkly funny tale about losing my mom and finding myself... again.
"Homecoming was hilarious, heartbreaking, and heartwarming all in one. A must see!"
Dara is on the adventure of her life studying art in Australia when she gets that call-- her mom is dying, and she has to come home. Suddenly, their already difficult mother/daughter relationship becomes a lot more complicated. How do you make amends with a dead mom?
What follows is a winding journey through the awkward, painful, unexpectedly hilarious process of finding yourself again after loss. “Homecoming” is a darkly funny solo show about complicated grief, identity, and how losing your mom can really mess with your study abroad year (and the next 20 years after that).
So please: laugh, cry, or just sit there silently questioning your own life choices.
The show was originally directed by Iris Bahr.
Fresh off its NYC and LA debuts, this is what audience members are saying...
"Dara delivers an absolutely captivating performance in this beautifully written, deeply personal show. The exploration of grief, memory, and the complexities of the mother-daughter relationship is both intimate and universally relatable. Every word felt intentional — I was hanging on to each one. The hour flew by; I could have easily watched another. It’s rare to see something that feels so raw yet so carefully crafted. A moving and memorable experience."
"Beautiful, touching show. I laughed. I cried. I thought deeply. The show masterfully touched on heavy topics, striking just the right tone. I highly recommend the show to all."
